A true story is about obsession, greed, and the hunt for gold. Boyhood dreams of treasure lead to a lifelong search when a retired missile scientist makes a monumental discovery and tempts fate for fortune as he hatches a secret plan to prove his claim.

Ruthless newspaper editor Walter Burns (Walter Matthau) and reporter Hildy (Jack Lemmon) believe together they can cover any story. The only problem is their team is being broken up as Hildy has decided to get married and leave the newspaper business altogether. As Hildy grooms his replacement, his retirement is derailed when the story of the century breaks and all of Chicago is in hot pursuit.

In Heartworn Highways Revisited, the filmmakers reunite with Heartworn originals Guy Clark, Steve Young and David Allan Coe while focusing on the next generation of “outlaws”  who honor the traditions of their predecessors while forging a highway all their own.
